Juneteenth Message: Celebrating Freedom and Faith

Hello, dear friends! Pastor Greg here from Faith Freewill Baptist Church. On this Juneteenth, we celebrate the day when freedom was finally proclaimed to all enslaved people in the United States. It is a time to remember our shared history, honor the resilience of those who endured, and rejoice in the God-given gift of liberty.

A Time to Reflect on Freedom

Galatians 5:1 reminds us, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” Just as physical freedom was restored to the enslaved, we are reminded of the spiritual freedom that Christ offers to all who believe in Him.

Honoring Strength and Resilience

Psalm 34:18 offers comfort and strength: “The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” On Juneteenth, we remember those who endured immense suffering and celebrate their perseverance and hope. Their courage is an inspiration to us all.

Rejoicing in Unity

Ephesians 4:3 encourages us to, “Endeavour to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” Juneteenth is not only a celebration of freedom but also a reminder of the importance of unity and reconciliation. As we come together, let us build bridges of understanding and compassion.

Join Us at Faith Freewill Baptist Church

We invite you to join us at Faith Freewill Baptist Church, located at 641 River Road, as we celebrate the joy of freedom and reflect on God’s goodness. Let this day remind us to seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our Lord.

May this Juneteenth be a time of joy, remembrance, and gratitude.

Blessings and love,

Pastor Greg
